The holidays are upon us and little people are growing their excitement. So in the spirit of xmas fun, and keeping tiny hands and minds busy, we decided to do an activity advent calender this year as a family.
Inspired by these scandiliscious versions:
I have been shopping for bags of tricks and mocking up labels, checking our calender and finally got my shikaka together yesterday and put it all in a treasure hunt bowl for Nila to search each morning ( also helps teach her number recognition...we should be fine until 10)
I've tried to steer well away from sweets and have filled bags and boxes with the relevant craft tools, or little props. Activities range from Christmas crafts like making snowglobes and scandi gnomes, to family quality time like watching Christmas movies and picnicing under the tree, or valueble traditions like reading the nativity story.
I've mixed it up a bit with white, black and natural boxes and bags, and placed them all into a gorgeous bowl. I printed my own number / date stickers and popped the activity card inside each package.
